We Won't Reinstate the Draft...
...we'll just put in a bill that makes EVERYONE have to serve.
H.R. 4752 making it mandatory that every person age 18-42 serves in the military or as a civilian for the purpose of homeland defense.
Sounds just like that all volunteer military we weren't going to change.
Through this blog, I have a few friends in other countries... ever feel like housing a hippy draft dodger? I can cook italian food and I'm good with computers...

froyd - I agree. Its just one of those election year bills that was introduced as political fodder. Support it and you're re-instating the draft. Don't support it and you're not providing for protection of our country, and hate america.
lisa - that would be my plan, border jump into canada. That might not work though, I'm sure our borders with them would end up getting sealed off out here (maybe not for you though)... So if that's the case the enlistment officer is gonna get hit on by me. Although I might be able to come up with a viable religious excuse.

i'd definitely recommend coming to canada! except that lately our moron p.m. has been trying ever so hard to be more like you americans... he just introduced a whole bunch of bills that make me cringe, so maybe you wouldn't be much better off up here!
