Crikey!!!
Steve Irwin, better known as The Crocodile Hunter was killed.
He was filming an underwater documentary and took a stingray barb to the chest.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and tried to save him, but weren't successful.

I heard that on the radio in the car this morning, and almost cried! I love Steve Irwin! But its almost a shame that it wasn't a crocodile that got him, it would've been so much more... poetic? Or something.
They should post the video on youtube.com
they should auction off that stingray barb.
killing off stingrays because of a stupid move by the croc hunter (from what I've read since) would be horrible.
I read a statistic where he is only the second person to be known to be killed by a stingray.
not to mention something like that would go against one of the things he stood for, the preservation of wild animals.
are you sure that he wasn't for "preserving" wild animals in jars and stuff for later consumption?
Froyd - interesting point. Lets discuss the evidence.
His name was the "Crocodile Hunter."
Hunters kill and eat animals.
Crocodiles are tasty critters.
I've seen an episode of the Iron Chef where they cooked sting rays...
