A New Crimefighter is.... Resurrected?
Normally, when I find something in the news, I find some way, shape, or form to make fun of it. Occasionally I come across some sad news, and I treat it appropriately. This one, is neither case.
A comic book company has created a new character to fight the forces of evil... Pope John Paul II. In it, he has come back to life and fights Satan and his minions with his supernatural powers. The company is in Columbia, but there are plans of sending it out to many other countries... the US is on the potential list.
Issue one should have him taking on the Anti-Christ. Yes, that would be dubs. I can see him shooting fire and demons out of his ears.

pope as superhero? Bah. What I want to see is pope as SUPER VILLAIN.
His doomsday device would be the ark of the covenant, and all his little gadgets would be stolen from the pages of leonardo da vinci being held in the vatican.
c'mon, the dudes already got his own CITY as headquarters...and his own SWISS GUARDS. And his own freakin' costume.
I'm telling you, the pope would make one kickin' super villain.
the only problem would be who he would have to fight...perhaps Christ?
Excellent points, but you have forgotton that even superheros have their lairs.
Superman had the fortress of solitude.
The Justice League had the Hall of Justice.
The X-Men have Professor Xaviers School for the gifted.
I'd also call anyone wearing tights or spandex, and a mask, wearing a costume.
As far as fighting, I can see the Pope bringing his own brand of vigilante justice to the world. He could fight the true threats to the world: dubs, Tom Cruise, the re-animated body of Walt Disney, Rasputin's clone, the Olsen Twins...
yeah, but those lairs were stupid. they had no history. for cryin' out loud the vatican is old...it's gotta be the seat of some ancient evil.
as for those 'threats' they sound like possible shcemes of the popes to fight the humans of the world.
I'm tellin' you, the resurrected pope would be evil.
